The skill of Czech workers and capacity of the factories located in the so-called “Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia” was utilised by Germans to produce plenty of weapons during the war. The prodigal Czechoslovak LT vz. 38 light tank’s final development, carried out under Germans’ orders, brought forth a small, simple, yet formidable weapon - the Hetzer tank destroyer, equipped with a powerful gun. It had proven its qualities, unfortunately, fighting against the Allies both in the West and in the East. Thus proven, it secured orders from the Swiss Government post-war (Hetzers aka G-13 were in service there from 1949 till 1970!) and from the Czechoslovak Army (in service till 1958). Two special sections with very rare photos are devoted to the combat history of the type.
