Now for the first time the design evolution of the Pz.Kpfw.II has been correctly sorted out and the characteristics of each Ausfuehrung (model) correctly identified. This has been made possible by over 38 years of research in private and public archives, chassis number analysis, and the assistance of friends sharing rare photos of Pz.Kpfw.II with legible chassis numbers. Hundreds of hours were spent precisely measuring surviving Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.c, A, B, and C components and over a thousand hours were spent in creating detailed as-built drawings. This book is also loaded with new information on the history, production, unit organization, tactics, and wartime after-action reports from front-line units. In accordance with our high standards, the text and data are based solely on primary sources. This is a 20 volume plus series from German AFV specialist Tom Jentz. The series , when complete, will present more 20 titles on virtually all the armored vehicles used by Germany from 1925-1945. They will provide a developmental history, unique characteristics, major modifications, data sheets and armor specs based solely on original documents and existing vehicles.
